DR. MICHAEL KELLY

After graduating from the University of Illinois in Urbana with a BS in biochemistry, Dr. Michael Kelly continued at the University of Illinois College of Medicine for medical school. He received his MD in 1980. He then did a five-year general surgery residency at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and passed the General Surgery Board Certification exam. After Chicago, Dr. Kelly moved to Nottingham, England, to begin his plastic surgery training at Nottingham City Hospital, where he trained for 6 months. Upon completion in Nottingham, he went to the University of Miami to complete his two-year plastic surgery residency under Ralph Millard Jr., MD, who is known as one of the fathers of modern plastic surgery. Dr. Kelly practiced in Miami from 1992-2022 at Miami Plastic Surgery, the practice he founded. He has now joined Georgia Skin Cancer and will focus on aesthetic injectables and minor surgical procedures.

Family

He and his wife Ilyse live in Reynolds Lake Oconee and have two children. Emma is a general surgery resident in Memphis and Michael Jr. is an architect in NYC. Dr. Kelly and his wife are extremely active and enjoy golf, boating, tennis, and travel.
